The Dutch Arthritis Foundation (DAF) aims to raise funds, which it uses to improve cure and care for patients with rheumatic diseases and to stimulate scientific research activities in rheumatology. It fosters innovative translational research and stimulates international collaboration. DAF is always searching for new methods to combat the many rheumatic diseases.
The Arthritis Foundation is the largest independent financer of arthritis research in the Netherlands and funds around 60% of the independent arthritis research in this country.
Each year twenty new short running projects are funded. In addition, the Arthritis Association continuously supports academic professorships in rheumatology and orthopedics
This year DAF celebrates on November 18th that it exists now for 85 years. For this special occasion it has decided to support the international effort for research for childhood arthritis in UCAN.
